We learned how to repair
concrete.
We bought a lot of concrete in North Carolina, packed
it on a 30' trailer, and drove up I 81 through Pennsylvania. If
anyone's ever driven I 81, you know how bad the road surfaces are.
Several pieces broke each trip no matter how well we packed
them.
We learned how to paint concrete lawn
ornaments.
We didn't know anything about
painting concrete, but we quickly became "experts". Our customers
wanted to purchase painted pieces and they liked the way we painted
them.
We learned how to
maintain and preserve concrete.
Living in central New York we get a lot of
rain, snow and cold weather. The water is the biggest enemy of
concrete.
We learned
where
to buy concrete. You may be lucky enough to
live in an area that has several concrete lawn ornament businesses.
We don't. Here in central New York there are only a few small places
that pour any concrete lawn ornaments. My advice here is if you see
a piece you like, you better buy it then. I can't tell you how many
people I had come back to purchase a piece I already sold.
